Episode 26: Filling In the Hole
Sunday Apr 30, 2017
Sunday Apr 30, 2017
Another great week of Cardinal baseball, at least in the results, has the Cards knocking on the door of first place and Daniel Shoptaw (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Allen Medlock (The Redbird Daily, @amedlock1) in a good mood. Everything's not perfect, of course, but the flaws in this team are easier to swallow when they are winning nine of 11. Daniel and Allen look at the good and the bad at each facet of the team, from the strong starts of Mike Leake and Lance Lynn to what to expect out of Adam Wainwright going forward. The bullpen doesn't escape scrutiny, as the guys wonder about Kevin Siegrist and dissect just how Mike Matheny has been using the arms this week.
Offensively, the team seems to be clicking a little more, thanks in part to Dexter Fowler finding his footing and Jedd Gyorko claiming third base as his own. What happens when Jhonny Peralta comes back? Will Gyroko have the position the rest of the year? The guys tackle those points as well as the Twitter questions provided by you, the listeners!

Episode 25: That's a Whole Lot Better
Saturday Apr 22, 2017
Saturday Apr 22, 2017
A week after seeing the Cardinals win just one game, Daniel Shoptaw (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Allen Medlock (The Redbird Daily, @amedlock1) are a lot happier discussing St. Louis's recent good fortune, winning four of their past five games. That doesn't mean everything's under control, because you still have Kevin Siegrist and Seung-hwan Oh and a sputtering offense, but it's much more fun approaching the future with some optimism rather than dealing with everything that's gone wrong. If only John Mozeliak had had his talk with Mike Matheny earlier.... All the week that was, plus Kyle Reis talking the minors (and, of course, Luis Robert) and your Twitter questions!

Episode 24: Breathe. Just Breathe.
Saturday Apr 15, 2017
Saturday Apr 15, 2017
It's another week of Cardinal baseball but the worrying signs are still there. It was a tough week for pretty much all facets of the Redbirds (save Mike Leake) and Daniel and Allen, fresh off watching a close loss to the Yankees, are here to break it down and talk about what went right this week and what went wrong. Plenty of talk about that left fielder that probably shouldn't be. Discussion about the bullpen breakdown and which parts of it are of concern. And when will this offense click?
All this plus Kyle Reis giving a minors report and a absolute slew of Twitter questions. And, given a new trailer and such, a little dab of Star Wars at the end. Give it a listen, won't you?

Episode 23: An Opening Week Lacking in Jedi
Saturday Apr 08, 2017
Saturday Apr 08, 2017
After last week's technical debacle prevented a show from being released, Daniel again meets up with Allen and is joined this time by Kyle Reis, also of The Redbird Daily. The season has kicked off and after an Opening Night full of excitement, the rest of the week hasn't been so great. The guys go through what went right and what went wrong in the first four games. We also get to hear about Kyle's prospect obsession Luis Robert and his chances of coming to St. Louis plus a little look at how the minors are going so far.
The last half of the show deals with the extensions of Yadier Molina and Stephen Piscotty, your Twitter questions, and a half-hour Star Wars discussion. (Don't worry, we give you a heads up before we dive into the different form of geekery.) Clear your calendars and get comfy, Meet Me at Musial's a long but good one this time!

Episode 22: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Baseball
Saturday Mar 25, 2017
Saturday Mar 25, 2017
It's just over a week until Opening Night and the games and the stats are starting to mean a little bit more. Daniel Shoptaw (C70 At The Bat) and Allen Medlock (The Redbird Daily) talk about the recent winning streak by the Cardinals and what the roster is going to look like this season. Does it matter that Matt Adams is playing a little left field? How much rope do you give Kolten Wong? Is Miguel Socolovich going north with the club? The guys also answer your Twitter questions and give a #CardsMadness update. (Please vote for @C70 Saturday afternoon/Sunday in his Sweet 16 matchup!)

Episode 21: #CardsMadness
Wednesday Mar 15, 2017
Wednesday Mar 15, 2017
If it's the last few weeks of spring training, it must be time for #CardsMadness, the Twitter contest designed by John Nagel of The Redbird Daily. To break down this year's bracket, Daniel and Allen are joined by Tara Wellman of Bird Seeds and Gateway To Baseball Heaven fame. They talk about the possible upsets, who the top seeds are and should be, and who is going to walk away with the title. It's a free-wheeling, fun-filled discussion about a great time-waster!

Episode 20: Shaping the Roster
Saturday Mar 11, 2017
Saturday Mar 11, 2017
With John still unavailable, Daniel and Allen team up again to talk about the week that was in Cardinal camp. How much stock should we put on Michael Wacha's strong spring? Can we tell anything from the way the games have gone so far? The guys also break down the 25-man roster possibilities, which are less numerous than you might think. Also some World Baseball Classic talk and your Twitter questions!

Episode 19: The Kids and the Hall
Saturday Mar 04, 2017
Saturday Mar 04, 2017
John Nagel was again on assignment as they say in the radio business (that assignment being a great dad) and so Allen Medlock of The Redbird Daily sat in again with Daniel to talk about the beginning of spring training and to break down the Cardinals' Hall of Fame ballot which was released this week. Plenty of talk about the first week of games, including who is looking sharp and who is off to a slow start. How serious is this back injury to Matt Carpenter? What do we make of this start coming up by Trevor Rosenthal? And which two legendary Cardinals would these guys put in the Hall? All of this and much, much more!

Episode 18: The Boys Are Back In Town
Saturday Feb 18, 2017
Saturday Feb 18, 2017
Well, at least back in Jupiter. After an episode's hiatus, John Nagel (@CardinalsFarm) returns to the co-host chair to talk about all that's going on in Cardinal Nation with Daniel Shoptaw (@C70). Pitchers and catchers--as well as the rest of the team--have reported to Florida and are just days away from taking the field in actual competition. John and Daniel touch on some older news, such as the Carlos Martinez extension and the results of the Correa Computer Crisis, before getting into the big news, the loss of Alex Reyes for the entire 2017 season due to Tommy John surgery. How much does this impact the chances this season? What does this mean for Reyes going forward? Do the Cardinals need to go and get another pitcher?
Plus John goes over the running prospect list from The Redbird Daily and the guys answer Twitter questions. Be sure to spend a little time on their projects and rating the show!

Episode 17: Now Batting for John Nagel....
Sunday Jan 29, 2017
Sunday Jan 29, 2017
With John unavailable for this recording session, Daniel turned to Redbird Daily contributor Allen Medlock to fill the co-host chair. After talking about Allen's background, the guys get into discussing some of the news since the last show, including the expected arbitration hearings of Carlos Martinez and Michael Wacha, the usage of Yadier Molina, and other stuff that came out of the Winter Warmup. They look at the rotation and who might be in and out with the help of some Twitter questions before briefly touching on the MLB Pipeline Top 100. As always, they wrap with some more Twitter questions, including discussing one of Brandon Schaeffer's Twitter trade proposals. It's a long one but a good one!
