Episode 17: A Bitter Taste

As Cardinal fans, we were almost unaware that the season could end this soon.  Now, with a rare NLDS loss (and at the hands of the dastardly Cubs, even!) behind them, Dan and Daniel talk about what went wrong in that series, what else could have happened, and whether it would have made any difference anyway.  Then they get into the business of the offseason, going over the post-mortem press conference by John Mozeliak and Mike Matheny and talking about the free agents and arbitration-eligibles as we start looking at 2016.  As always, they finish up with an entertainment section, with Dan recommending a new movie that just came out.  Stay tuned to find out which one!

Episode 16: Bear Hunting

The postseason is upon us and Dan and Daniel take a look at the upcoming National League Divisional Series, featuring the first ever Cards/Cubs postseason matchup.  They go through the rosters, talking about who was on and who was left off, how Mike Matheny might use his tools, and generally trying to be as upbeat about the whole thing as possible.  Plus, as always, the entertainment report at the end! (Note: this was recorded before the series began!)

Episode 15: Champagne Dreams

The regular season is over (well, by time you hear this, it probably is) and the Cardinals will be again playing in the NLDS.  Dan and Daniel tackle the last bit of the season, talking about the clinching game especially, then delve into a few other things.  You know, small stuff like who they'd rather see the Cardinals play out of Chicago or Pittsburgh, what kind of role does Adam Wainwright have in the postseason bullpen, how do you keep Jon Jay off the roster (no, we're serious, if anyone has any ideas please let us know).  Lots of props given to Daniel's Patron Pitcher Tyler Lyons and wrapping it up with the entertainment segment you've come to know and love.  Give us a listen as you prep for the playoffs!

Episode 14: The Dirty Dozen

12!  As that magic number finally gets into the neighborhood of single digits, Dan and Daniel talk about the resurgence in Milwaukee and what is going on with the rest of the NL Central race.  Tommy Pham makes plenty of noise and there's no way these two talkers can ignore that.  Plus there's plenty of injury news, as always, but this time it's about people getting healthy--including perhaps Adam Wainwright.  Where does Waino fit in, or does he?  Finally, the guys answer Facebook and Twitter questions, including what the NLDS matchups could be as well as what the 2016 outfield would look like.  They wrap it up with their entertainment segment, which is not to be missed!

Episode 13: An Awakening In The Force

Depending on your point of view, 13 is either lucky or unlucky, as Dan and Daniel break any sort of length records in an epic podcast.  You name it, they probably touch on it, from Brandon Moss's recent resurgence to whether Mike Matheny is a good manager.  They talk about the NL Central and whether it's just about ready to be called in the Cardinals' favor.  Pitching, injuries and a rousing game of who is on or not on the postseason roster.  Plus Dan's entertainment recommendations and a #ForceFriday reference!

Episode 12: The Desert Becomes An Oasis

August is just about done which opens up a whole lot of possibilities for conversation for Dan and Daniel.  They discuss the recent surge in scoring by the Cardinals and whether they can keep it up going forward.  Lots of players are coming off the DL, but some are staying on, and the guys discuss what that means for the roster in September and beyond.  That September roster will expand, so there's talk about who we might see in that overcrowded clubhouse.  Plus plenty of talk about the state of the NL Central and Dan's movie pick of the week as well!

Episode 11: It Doesn't Have To Be Fancy, Just Effective

You'd think a team with 77 wins this early in the season would be on cruise control, but the St. Louis Cardinals are still fighting to keep their divisional lead.  Dan and Daniel talk about the overwhelming lack of anything resembling a consistent offense, wondering just what it'd take for this club to start rolling.  They also ponder just exactly what Peter Bourjos did to warrant never seeing the field again, who might get dropped from a postseason rotation, and who might return from their injuries and when.  Mike Matheny for Manager of the Year?  They weigh in on that and talk about the upcoming West Coast trip.  Plus a little movie talk and a chance for you to give your opinion on what show the guys should talk about once the fall season begins!

Episode 10: More Than One Way To Win

We've reached double digits on BDIB and Dan and Daniel are still astounded by the almost historic pitching level that we see on a nightly basis out of the Cardinals.  They talk about Jaime Garcia's great start against the Marlins, Lance Lynn's not-nearly-a-good-start against the Pirates, and the yeoman's work done by Daniel's Patron Pitcher, Tyler Lyons.  It's not all pitching, though, as they talk about the lack of power shown by those wearing the Birds on the Bat and how both of them wish Brandon Moss could break through.  They wrap it up with Dan's movie recommendations and a detailed discussion of CupGate, which you won't want to miss.

Episode 9: Pitching In

The trade deadline has come and gone and the dog days of summer are upon us.  However, that doesn't keep Dan and Daniel from spending a good long time talking about the news of the day when it comes to the Cardinals.  They talk about the pitching staff and especially the new-look, heavily-fortified bullpen.  The offense does get its turn in the limelight as well, though a smaller slice befitting the struggles they are having.  The guys talk about re-signing Jason Heyward and answer some Twitter questions, so sit back and enjoy!

Episode 8: A Traded Pitcher Gathers Some Moss

It's been a little crazy in baseball in general and St. Louis in particular lately and so Dan and Daniel get together to try to make some sense out of it all.  They try to make some sense out of the deal for Brandon Moss, talk about the fact that the Cardinals are going to get one BILLON (with a b) dollars to play on TV, and discuss what kind of trade they'd like to see as the deadline nears, even though none is likely forthcoming.  Dan finishes with his movie picks of the week so be sure to stick around for that!
